IcySea is a map-based application designed to display and deliver ice relevant information for operational purposes in the polar regions. Information in IcySea is always up-to date and available in near-real time. It is explicitly suited for low-bandwidth connections on board ships. IcySea is a so-called Progressive Web App (PWA) and can be installed locally on your device from the browser bar. It runs on all modern web browsers, with the best user experience on Chrome. Use of IcySea requires a free registration. After registration you will receive a personal user token.
You have to enter a valid user token before running IcySea!
When using IcySea data is stored within your computer. This includes, for example, the user token for user identification, subscription data or user settings. All transferred data will be stored within your browser's cache in order to run IcySea while in offline mode. A Service Worker is used in the background to handle requests to the network or cache.
